By spiciest to you mean hottest. The spiciest meal I have ever eaten was in Mexico the subtle use of chillies was something I could never aspire to. The hottest in an Indian Phal, I only had one little bit, I was glad I was tasting someone-else's
meal!!!

A couple years ago when I was at Cossetta's in downtown St Paul MN, I ordered the sausage and peppers on the hoagie roll and went for the "hot" peppers. To this day it is the spiciest thing I have ever ate in my whole life.

When I lived in Cape Town, there was an indian restaurant called Gaylords which served loads of different curries. My mother chose a "Hot" dish (according to the menu), and the one bite of it that I had caused the whole of my mouth, including the skin around my lips, to go completely numb. My mother finished the lot though!

I made a sauce that had a couple of Scotch Bonnets in it. I never knew that they were considered to be the hottest peppers in the world. There were also a lot of other expensive ingredients in it and I had to throw the whole thing out. Even the cat was coughing as I made it. Totally inedible!

Started out with a soup called dal shorba, then graduated to chicken vindaloo. So hot it made me hiccough. Fortunately for the aloo paratha, raita and papidam, it cooled down things a tad. Rounded it out with a dessert of kulfi (cardamom ice confection) and everything was good.
Probably my favorite ethnic food of all time.

That, and I once made a dish called Texas Chainsaw Massacre Chili. So hot it could take chrome off a bumper.

It wasn't exactly a meal but this comes to mind and I laugh about it now. I once was eating a meal and there was a pepper that came with it, not realizing it could be hot I ate a piece of it and my gosh it was HOT! I was with friends and I felt so embarrassed as my eyes watered and I tried to cool off my burning mouth!

Green sauce from a Mexican restaurant in Hazelwood MO, Pueblo Nuevo. It burned bad going in and coming out. It was about 6 years ago and I have been afraid to try it since. It's a great place though.

I worked in a factory with some Mexicans. They wanted to try my bland American lunch and suggested I trade with them. What they had was very hot, but it sure had a great flavor. I guess it is something they serve like at big parties. I would like to know what it is and make some myself. Of course my own cooking is never as good as that of some one else.
