My Wife and I brought up 4 children. When our youngest was just 18 months old we had twins. You can imagine there were occasions when the crying etc in the middle of the night was really depressing, and anybody with an unstable mind could quite easily flip and hurt the child. I can not condone what Danielle Wails did, but I question whether anyone in their right mind could do such an evil thing. I suspect she "was" mentally disturbed, in which case she should have been locked up in a secure environment and given treatment for it. For the Judge to let her walk free is absolute nonsense. Is this another case of how much will it cost to keep her and treat her? How will this Judge feel if she ever harms another child. It"s typical of our judiciary, they seem to come up with the most ridiculous rulings.

I personally dont agree with the sentence or rather lack of one. However, neither me or any of you have the full details - only what the media reported and thats probably not correct fully. I think the woman is evil - or rather was made evil by her depression. I wouldnt want to be in her shoes - living with it in her head every day exactly what she did and the backlash from others. I still hope she rots in hell - there can never be any excuse for doing what she did - there are so many caring foster parents that would have taken her son until she was better - bless his little heart - may he rest in peace x

The judge is a complete dip and the judicial system in the USA is a joke. Criminals go free and sometimes get money because they have been wronged in some way by a police officer doing his job to protect and serve. Its crazy, and this whole Post Partum Depression thing, I agree it happens to some women, but it is far and few between, it appears that it is an easy out now if women commit crimes. I am waiting for the day wen some woman says she uses post partum and she wasn't pregnant.

Mercy?? Where was her mercy for the child?
The problem is that all to often in crimes like thisthe same excuses are used as in white collar crime. If they dont excuse this then a rich person may have to go to jail too! Sad as it is liberals get blamed for this because they scream for equality, when in reality conservatives are the white collar criminals that are protected by it!

In my opinion this woman showed a great deal of cunning and forethought. She probably didn't mean to kill the baby and did it for attention from her ex-partener.She was just too stupid to realise how fast a fire can spread. This is no defence, she should have received life.

Maybe if God burnt the child / baby of the Judge and he is the father of the child. He will see it from a different point of view

(1) she said in court it was two idiots that did it. showing malice aforthought
(2) the depression bull doesnt cut the mustard because of above, she was able to make up her story showing some kind of knowledge that what she had done was wrong. she was well aware of ther action so automatisim can not be used ..

she should be thrownn to the lions ....sorry for the sauage spellings and typo.

Too true. It is an absolute disgrace.

She may well have suffered but she has KILLED her young child and DEPRIVED a father of seeing his son grow up.

No doubt the judge thinks she has suffered enough. Well I am sure other family members DON'T agree and they have to suffer for the rest of their lives.

I would not call what the judge did mercy, I would call it stupidity. If there is a god I hope they get to know the feeling of burning.
