I control what I do - Free will

2006-10-24 05:28:13 · answer #1 · answered by schmushe 6 · 3 1

I don't think so, but this is a question I have asked too. I know we have free will, but I believe God knows everything we will choose to do with our free will too. He knows all things...so, It's kinda like, is it the chicken or the egg? Also, I do believe that if you "give" God your life and ask Him for His will, ways, or however you would put it, I feel He will help you in everything, no matter what it is. In that case, you would be allowing God to have control, depending on how much of your life you give Him and how much you let Him keep!

No. You have a free will to decise what you do and say. God has it all written down for the Judgement Day however.

Revelation 20:12 - And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

No. He has given mankind free will to make our own choices. He does know the choices we will make but He doesn't control us. Otherwise, He would have everyone just believe in Him and everyone would go to heaven. He lets us choose drugs, murder, jealousy, poor relationships, and other choices in life. At any time though, we can call on Him to help us and He will be there to bring us through the mess we've created out of our lives. Remember, He loves us...but He doesn't force us to do anything.

It's true that God gave us Free will but God already knows what we're going to do.

If God controlled us there would be no evil in the world because there is no evil in Him.

No. If we are strolling along a path walking with the Lord, and we trip and fall, the Lord is there to pick us up and help us thru the pain. But the Lord did not cause us to fall.
