I am sure some CA reps are racists. I am sure some CA dems are racist. What specifically are you referring to?
If you're referring to illegal aliens, please be advised that illegal aliens ARE NOT A RACE - THEY ARE CRIMINALS!
NOTE TO HGONZ below: If they are here illegally--they are breaking our laws and ARE criminals. Hit a nerve? Go to the INS and do it legally like thousands of honest immigrants did before you--if it's too much trouble for you to take the time to do it legally--than maybe this isn't the place for you.

now, as regards the question at hand...i think we all can agree that something must be done to address the issue of unchecked mass migration across our woefully permeable borders. the answer seems pretty simple to me.
anyone that wants to come to this country should be able to, once it has been established that they aren't violent criminals or some such. they register with the state, pay into the system in exchange for enjoying its benefits, and take a language literacy test after being here for a predetermined period of time. we begin to aggressively prosecute anyone who employs illegals and raise the minimum wage. the economic issues will resolve themselves, and the overall lifestyle of those coming here will improve.
by the way, john wayne....using that screen name and quoting a mccarthyist douche like anne coulter doesn't really work wonders for your intellectual credibility.

The only thing the Repubs currently have going for them is their stance against illegal immigration. However, they have done nothing to stop it in their nearly 6 years of total power in congress. It is not racist to want to protect our borders from terrorist infiltration. Nor it is racist to want to illiminate the risk to our National and natural resources posed by those who want to run away from their own country to come here and get a free ride at our tax payers expense. Repub or Democrat, whoever is willing to send these bottom feeders back to the country they hate enough to run away from has my vote.
