A very interesting question. It is my understanding that in the 40s and 50s, when prayer was allowed, there were absolutely no shootings in the schools.
Besides, crime was rather low in general. I have heard that people could sleep with the doors open.
Yes, I believe that violence and shootings, if not completely stop, at least they would decrease.
In this country, people have forgotten love and compassion, and other moral values. There has been a total loss of what makes a society good.

It'd take a lot more than just prayers to stop the violence. But I don't think prayers would hurt either.

no person components you a "credible article" via fact none exists. there is not any link between college prayer and decreased violence. I think of you will locate quite some articles to the alternative. i'm a survivor of Catholic college. We prayed daily, and quite some the youngsters in that place have been rather violent. We had greater effective than our share of bullies, and play-backyard fights have been a daily prevalence. in case you look on the information relating serial killers, you will locate a lot of them had deeply religious upbringing. Sorry, yet any article written by way of a preacher, or a "religious chief," could immediately be suspect. all of us know what their agendas are. Religionists prefer there to be a clarification for babies at school to wish, quite, to wish to their Christian god. it extremely is no longer approximately salvation; it extremely is approximately concept administration. so some distance as i will make certain, that's a ineffective gesture, and the time is bigger spent coaching youngsters to study, write, upload, subtract, and think of.

No. And you might add some MORE killings, for religious reasons.

Anyway, IF violence could be stopped with prayers, I'd look for some other methods to stop it.

no,i mean you can pray all you want to in school, that doesn't change what may be going on at home as far as children go,violence by kids in school is because of lack of parental involvement, when parents decide to take an active role in raising their children instead of relying on computers, and games and other kids to inform their children on life, then mabey the violence will stop, remember, you are a product of your environment.religion and prayer would only mean justification in some peoples/kids eyes.(justifying the violence)oh yeah,if more kids stopped getting beaten by thier own parents and or foster parents, well that might help too.

I think kindness and anger issues training would help more, in the case of disgruntled, dispondent, and disassociated students who come back seeking revenge. Kindness training for everyone, I mean, and anger issues training for students at risk. In that case, prayers for peace and love would be a beneficial part of that process. However, when someone is under the influence of illegal drugs, or extremely volatile, violent evil spirits, most of the time prayer will not be enough.

students arent told that they cant pray, and they are allowed to do so if they wish but i dont think making prayer mandatory is a good idea. there are so many religions in this country that forcing kids to pray to a christian god is violating not only their religious beleifs but also their civil rights. im not even sure praying would do anything anyway, because the kids who are violent are usually that way because of circumstances outside of school.

I think violence and killings would stop if parents could afford to actually raise their children instead of both parents working just to get by.

That's assuming that violence in schools is caused by those who don't pray. An overwhelming majority of crimes committed in the United States are committed by self proclaimed Christians. What makes you think that forcing someone to pray will decrease their angst? In fact, being forced to pray could do the exact opposite. Those who kill in school feel ostricizied by society and prayer could further their seperation, especially if they're questioning the existance of god.

I definitely think that it would help the situation! Before when we had prayer in school, school shootings weren't taking place.
