Im "addicted" to water. I drink up to a galon a day. I love the taste of it and its the only thing i ever drink. I dont drink anything else and i dont even like tea, just fresh cool water. I know its healthy to drink 8 - 10 classes of water but i drink litteraly up to a galon daily. Could this much water be bad for me? Once an old lady who saw me drinking a lot of water told me its bad for me and could stretch out the stomach just like eating a lot of food would, she also said its too much work for my bladder. is this true? could it be bad for me to drink this much water?

I don't see how it could be too much work for your bladder. Water is very good for you. The more you drink the better! Doesn't it make you feel better than to drink caffeinated drinks? I have so much more energy with only water and powerade as my liquids all day. I've drank more than a gallon/day when I was going to the gym, and sure, I peed a lot, but it also supressed my appetite, cleansed my system out, and as I said before, I have a lot more energy....naturally. I'm not a doctor, but I don't see how water can be bad for you in any way whatsoever.

A gallon of water per a day is a great amount, I drink even more than that. Yes its possible to die from drinking too much water but the amount you would have to drink would be almost impossible.
Water is great for you and the 8 glasses a day is a minimum. If you are doing low carb diets then you need to drink more because those diets will dehydrate you.

I've never heard of drinking too much water. Although I have a sensitive stomach and can only drink filtered water. Some city water has made me sick. I never noticed the problem till I too was drinking a gallon a day of city water.

Other than that, water cleanses your body of toxins. If you feel good and are not suffering any adverse effects, then I don't see the problem.

You see, the problem is people overdo things.

It is like taking too much vitamins; - it leads to vitamin poisoning.
Moderation is the key.. Sure, water is good for you. If you leach out the nutrients and electrolytes (salts) from your system then it can lead to some unpleasant side effects.

So, watch how much you drink. I guess you can stretch to 12 glasses instead of 10

But the bit about stretch out the stomach and all that - that's a myth.

psssttt... your urinal tract could get worn out... he he he.

Sure, It will be bad to you. It is very dangerous for your lungs and if you drink water this much continuously the water volume of your lungs will increase, and you will feel difficult to breath. I don't know what will happen after that but sure enough it won't be a happy end.

There has to be a reason you drink so much. You should see your doctor and tell them about this.

Your kidneys may not be absorbing the water and instead just immediately empties out in your urine. You need to have that checked asap.

As long as you exercise plenty and use the water you drink I wouldn't worry. Maybe ask a doctor anyway.

too much drinking of portable water is not bad..if you exercise and your sweating, if you urinate most of the time..because water can be easily excreted in our body..and water is electrolytes that contains minerals that could help balance our body if were dehydrated...BUT water become BAD if you drink to much and you can excreate it from you body...you'll be bloated and you can feel stomch ache.
