Yes. I don't even understand why we have been over there as long as we have.

We should absolutely bring all troops home within our borders when we no longer face international threats that require their presence out there!

Sadly, I don't see that happening in my lifetime, so we must judiciously deploy to and base out of foreign countries when necessary to protect our national interests.

Anyone who disagrees with that first statement is probably an imperialist, but the United States is not. In the past 100 years, we have begrudgingly fought and won two world wars and several smaller wars. Unlike the victors of every war prior to the 20th Century, we sought nothing more than the land necessary to bury our fallen heroes.

Ask the troops themselves. We who are not in the military are not in a position to speak to this.

I got in a long discussion with my former roommate's fiance about this very issue (he's a serviceman who served overseas for 18 months) He feels very strongly that those who are currently serving are there because they want to be, because they believe in the cause. Since there is currently no draft in this country, I am inclined to agree with him.

Any loss of human life is an unbearable tragedy. But remember that those who are fighting overseas signed up for the military. They were not forced into it, and I've never met a serviceman (or woman) who thinks we should immediately pull all our troops out of Iraq (or other places our troops are stationed, like Kosovo)

No, not until the mission is complete, and everything is secure. I don't understand why that is so hard for the opposers to grasp, as far as the logistics goes, I mean, first of all, we don't "cut & run" we finish the job.... If we pulled out now, America would be under total chaos, with curfews, and terrorists running rampant in our streets...
Think about it, we would be no different than those Countries who are envious of us..

Yes.

If you want to keep evil doers away, you go. Until you are ready to ship out, sitting at your desk making command decisions that mean life or death to thousands of young men is just chickenshit.

Yes, there was no need or justification for our Military to go anywhere. As it was put to me by someone that was pro-war, "It will be another 'Nam'." I agree, being somewhere we did not have a place being and getting our men killed for no reason. I have a better solution to all of this. Take all gang members, who as we can read about and see for ourselves are quite trained in shooting. (For those that want a war) Lets take those people, send them out and let them have a hay-day. 1. It gets them out of our country. 2. It lets them do what they like to do. 3. No one cares about gang members, so if they die doing what they love, so be it. Solving all regrets.

No, i dont think we should because then Iraq will think we are cowards and they will come to America and invade us. When the democrats come into offfice then i bet the troops will get taken out of war, but i hope that doesnt happen

Yes, from all foreign countries, and put them along the border with shoot to kill orders. Also when we do that we need to stop spending any money to help anyone who is not a US citizen. No foreign aid, ot free food to the starving in Africa etc.

We have never brought "all our troops" home. We have had troops deployed worldwide since WWI.

AND anyone who thinks we should disengage from anti-terrorist operations right now is fooling themselves. "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". I recommend reading about the U.S. and British view of Germany prior to WWII. and the repercussions of that thinking.

If I left Iraq today, I would not go home. I would go back to my duty station. There is a big difference. This place is far better than my duty station.
