Specifically, I am looking for a place that has light, slow music that people can dance to. A restaurant that has all this would be a plus.

Please do not suggest Shampoo, Cuba Libre, Egypt or other similiar places.

Hi,
I play in a jazz band in Phila. We play at The Ocean Grille on 77th and City Line Ave on Friday nights. Unfortunately there is no dance floor and little room. However, there is a Philly jazz website that lists a number of Jazz clubs, several of which serve food. Here's the link:

I'm surprised no one mentioned Ortlieb's on 3rd and Poplar in Northern Liberties. It's a Philadelphia and Jazz landmark. I don't know so much about the dancing in there, and it's more jazz than big band, but it's defintely worth looking at if you're into jazz.

How about this? I don't know, just throwing it out there I'm not a big impersonator fan, nor do I care too much about the comedy, but there's going to be a 40-piece orchestra and Sid Mark is hosting it.

I definitely want to know if you do find something though.
