Just a few questions.

1) I have had a twitch in my calves for 5 weeks and can still stand on my toes and heels. I hear you have to be weak first then the twitches come, is that right?

2) If twitches can come first how long does it take for weakness to kick in?

3) I can raise myself from the seat on my toes is that a good sign of strength?

Sadly my mother died from this horrible disease, there are two types one that starts with your body first and the other is the reverse where you loose your speech and swallowing first, my mother had the reverse, you must see a doctor about your concerns as it could be anything, its too early to tell and twitches could be a number of things so please see your doctor and good luck lets just hope its not that.

He probably wouldn't be able to get insurance and if he did I imagine it be phenomenally expensive and wouldn't cover any illness or treatment related to his condition . . . at least here in the UK he is covered for any care he needs. And can always choose to pay privately if he wants anything extra. And RayHere is talking boll0cks as usual. Hannan is just a rich snob who has no understanding of what life is like for people who don't earn six figure salaries. It took a REAL man, like Aneurin Bevan, who had worked his way up from the bottom and understood how life was for the less fortunate, to give us the NHS. I have no respect for Hannan, self serving little traitor that he is who sucks so much US-Republican d*ck his jaw must be aching. But Bevan is my all-time Welsh Hero!!!

It just sounds like either a lack of vitamins or minerals. However for a test of strength squat down, push one leg out in front of you then try standing on one leg, if you can stand then you are extremely fit. If you ca'nt do'nt worry, not everyone can.

This is not the site for telling you where it might go, I suggest you go to your local hospital and ask for information that they have on the subject, incidently, my brother died after a long illness from this, good luck to you and wish you the best
