1. Always wash them by hand with a scotchguard scrubber and dry with a clean soft towel..
2. Never put them in the oven if they have plastic handles.
3. Never use metal utensils on them.
4. Always clean them immediately after use and put away.
5. Don't leave them sitting on the stove ~ the steady warm heat may warp them after time.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions. Don't use metal utensils i.e. scratch/mar the surface. Don't turn the heat to high, to have a recipe cook faster - like Emerile says -- use the knob controls for temp settings.

Buy cast iron, they last forever and require the least amount of care after the initial seasoning
