A wedding ring or wedding band consists of a precious metal ring, usually worn on the base of the left ring finger – the fourth finger (counting from the thumb) of the left hand. In some parts of the world, it is worn on the right ring finger (e.g. Norway, Germany, Poland or Russia).

Definitely left hand third finger, although it seems there are a lot of men that wear rings on their right hand third finger. It is a little confusing.

In the USA, the left hand, ring finger; abroad the right hand, ring finger. Same for the women.

Same as women - third finger, left hand.

Just remember, that if your intended is a tradesman he may not wear his ring all the time as it is an occupational health and safety issue (have you ever had to dig a ring out of someone's finger?)
