Just be honest about your feeling about pot. Ask him not to smoke it. That's about all you can do. Be his friend and try to get him involved in something more fun than pot!

The only thing you can do is talk to him as a friend. Let him know
that you are afraid he might get into trouble with the law. You can
not stop him from smoking, but you can just be there. Tell him
if he is going to smoke that he is not able to smoke it in or around
the house and to give you the respect. The only way he will give
up smoking is by him deciding to give it up. I have a nephew that
I am his legal guardian and I told him that, I did not like the idea of
him getting high, but he is not to bring anything home with him.
I also told him I would check his room to make sure he does not
have anything hidden. My daughter and I have looked through
his things because I was given a notice by my landlord. My landlord and I spoke and he ended up evicting my nephew for
smoking in the premises. So just remember be calm when
conversating with him, so he won't get an attitude with you or
he carrie a grudge. So remember be a friend not his mom.

You don't do anything cause he can change the whole thing and look innocent while making you look like the evil stepmom. Trust me, children nowadays are smart and know how to lie.

Tell your husband (his father) and he will deal with it.

Sweet of you to care about your stepson when nowadays sometimes even the mother does not care about her own child. More people should get mothers like you.

Good luck and hope you are happy with your husband and with your kids.

As long as you know it to be true on you and the mom are on the same side to help the son I would set some rules for your house like knowing where he is at all times and who is is with. Pick his friends if you have to. Know his myspace password and check on it often, and if he is very private (in his room all the time) start with going through his room, and if he throws a fit I would take his door off. I know it is hard but I did it with my daughter, and it made her very angry but it is for their own good and because we love them.

Learn how to roll joints for him.

All this paranoia about smoking weed is crazy. You have been subjected to mind control propoganda, and believed it all.
I'll bet you sometimes drink alcohol. I'll bet you get vaccinated. Those two are FAR more dangerous than smoking a bit of pot.

I'd just say look, when youre 18 years of age and a fledgling adult, you can do anything you want...that's your decision, your life. But in our home, while youre a minor, such adult decisions will not be made by you or it will be dealt with severely. Then, say no more.

While he's there, establish ground rules. He may hate them but it's nessisarry. TRY not to turn him in; it'll screw up his life more then it already is.

Talk with the other mom, maybe set ground rules like "---, if you come home smellin like smoke, -- you're grounded / early curfew," or somethin like that

Just show him what will happen if he smokes pot, carry him to health clinics and let them show him a video.

take a drag, talk about what you used to do back in the day

best way to gain his respect, later you can try and influence him in positive ways. i mean all kids experiement, just monitor his usage, only way to do that is to get closer to him
