Why is it just the christians having a pop back at you? If they were so secure in their faith they would pass this one over excepting that someone has a different point of view. As quoted " turn the other cheek" Its sad really because if the words of Jesus in the apostle according to Saint Thomas which has been deemed as heresy by the pope are quite beautiful, its not until people start to use these words and change them to suit their own bigotry that it becomes ugly and an organised religion.
Oh and I'm no-way a christian, I would be a heretic in their eyes something I am proud to be. Bet I get some slurrs now.

Because it is not a particularly pleasant generalisation. Religion, like science has many different aspects. i myself am in no way religious, and see that religion has created a lot of the worlds problems. However science has created the fear of nuclear weapons, pollution, climate change etc.. on a base level the 20th century cultures of Fascism and Communism eschewed religion in favour of science and a lot of clever people did some particularly stupid things. Also follow on question. Why do science geeks get upset when you state a fact like they are all social misfits?

Maybe it's something to do with the tone you say it in.

In truth I would not care if you called me stupid. I would rather spend 20 mins in a room with you than go home and be as narrow minded as you are.

If you don't believe that's fair enough, I'm not hear to judge you.

If you believe in evolution that's fine too.

All I would say is that sounds like apes had been designed to grow into humans over time, who do you think designed it so it could happen?

Darwin said that even though he did not believe in God anymore, he could not state he didn't exist either because of the way nature programs life and death.

Worth thinking about that too.

I am no upset by what you say but rather pity you. Clearly you are blinded by sin. It is with the heart that man believes, not the mind, for the mind is servant to the heart. Your heart obviously desires to hate God, which every one of us does, until He reveals Himself. So there is no difference there.

You cannot choose to believe, it is not within your power. Unless God quickens you to life you will remain dead (spiritually) in your tresspasses and sins.

It would be easy to prove both the existence of God and the truth of the gospel but without God's work on you, your heart would reject the truth, even though the proof would be intellectually inescapable.

Once the heart is changed the mind can be renewed and the doctrines of grace fully understood. Furthermore the mind becomes much more empowered than before and is fully and rationally utilised in the walk of faith. It is foolish to say we believe in fairies or such like, as some do. Belief is a result of God revealing Himself to us. It may appear fanciful to some, simply because they do not understand, or more likely do not want to understand.

It is all too easy to set up a straw man, as many do, and then knock him down. That is hardly clever but reveals the opposite.

Your extreme statement suggests, amongst other things, the inability of your mind to compass these things.

It is ironic that you use the word, "credible," which appears, how shall I say, rather a giveaway if you had but stopped to think properly. But if your mind is blinded you may find that difficult if not impossible.

To adopt the position that you have is very sad, and could be described as very arrogant, and I am deeply sorry for you, for you will find out your mistake. You are setting yourself up as the judge but are not in possession of all the facts. How then can you come to a right judgment? ( By the way, science which you are so credulous about, has discovered many things in creation which are proved to be impossible to evole. Quite impossible. They can only have come into being as they are, instantly. What is otherwise called, created. To be consistent, your credulity will now have to believe in a Creator. How embarrassing for you. You are going to have to become stupid, as you called it !) I can only hope, for you, that you may come to your senses before it is too late for you. If only you could see that it is you who is not using your mind properly.

Thank you for the opportunity to say something, however limited, to contradict your statement. I do hope it may stir you to think more critically.

Because no one likes to be called stupid. I believe you would be upset, or offended or at least uncomfortable if anyone stated you are stupid from this or that reason.
I've read somewhere that people would call themselves all sort of names: ugly, lazy, bad mannered....but stupid no way, so Christians are not excused from this rule.

"He who winks maliciously causes grief and a chattering fool comes to ruin. The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment. Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin." Proverbs 10: 10-14

Actually, my friend, for my particular denomination credible studies have found the more educated a person is, the more devout they tend to be.

I'm sure if you've already done so much research on these studies, you already know that, and are just purposefully omitting that little touch of information.

These must be stupid links. Have no time to waste in seeing them. as a rule; no religion is stupid. It involves deep devotions of the followers in each religion. Devotion is an act of benign spirituality not any stupidity. We should respect all religions of the world.

"Shot through the *** and you're to blame you give atheist 's a bad name." Opps changed my good ole CHRISTIAN friend Bon Jovi's song up a little. He'd probably think it was funny though. Anyway, darling I've seen your 360 page. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, cause "stoopid" is as "stoopid" does.

Time will tell how foolish we are. The Bible says that God's wisdom seems like foolishness to man, so this scientific fact comes as no surprise.
