I recently broke up with a guy I've dated for almost a year. His response was basically a "You can't fire me, I quit" - sorta thing. He has anger management issues and is basically ignoring me altogether, even when I tried to amicable/civil. He's trying to get at me with apathy, and unfortunately, it's working.

What's a good way to get over this? I've been in break-ups before, but for some reason, this one is affecting me more than the others...not necessarily because I thought he was "the one"...far from it. I guess more from a bruising of my ego.

Like you said, I think you kinda wanted the last word. You probably expected him to try to stop you from going not agree with you. Dont let ego get in the way of this. If he is not the one for you, you are wasting your time. Time you could be spending either finding or being with a person who really feels right for you. Just keep telling yourself why you left, the bad things you felt in the relationship and then you will start to realize that what you did was really a good idea. You need somebody who will make you happy. And he probably loves the fact that this is affecting you the way that it is. Dont give him that satisfaction, move on and leave him behind.

Go out with girls and find a guy that you can get a little tipsy with for just the night. I promise you'll forget about the guy. Seriously, get all your girls together and go out of town for the weekend or something. Party all weekend long. It sounds like fun can I come along. I need a weekend away!!

Forget about the ego issue, and move on, for what is done is done. Stay away from this guy, and if need be, find yourself a new one to heal the wound.

KEEP YOURSELF OCCUPIED!!! Don't leave yourself sitting at home by yourself to think about him! IF your not ready to go out with another guy go out with some girl friends...you might meet someone that just might keep your mind off of your ex!! Good luck!

get involved with things you like to do. Keep yourself busy, try volunteering or getting together with friends you have not seen in a while.
