I am so sorry that has happened to you. As a mom I would never disown my children no matter what. Maybe you have just shocked your parents in your decision not to be christian. I am not saying what they have done is right. Just give them time to come to their senses. Even God does not disown us when we leave him. Love your parents just the same. Sometimes we hurt that which is the closest to us. Parents are not always right even though we want to believe we are. And I want you to know that no matter how much they protest that can't stop loving you either. I know your hurt and I know nothing I can say will make the pain you feel go away but I hope I can at least put you in a different frame of mind about the whole issue. I say this from experience. My mom said she disowned me one time and now we are best friends. I never dreamed I could ever be this close to her. So please take it a day at a time.

That's what we call fanatic Christians. They've lost one soul which is you. Try to find your own way, the truth. May be you will get back to the track. Don't hate them. By not hating them, you will save two souls. Good Luck. Read this if you care. 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

12:2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
12:11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

My father disowned me when I became an atheist. That was 28 years ago, and he has not spoken to me since. He has never met my children (ages 11, 14, and 21) nor does he care to. It hurts, but you learn that life does indeed go on. Good luck to you.

People should be required to hold licences to raise kids...oh I guess some do hold licences, they should have to pass a rigorous test first perhaps...anyway there should be heavy consequences when you disown you own kids, the licence should be removed and their marriage annulled or something...at least heavy fines should apply.

So sorry ... you sound like a first rate person but you have second rate parents...

Don't be discouraged. You have a Fthaer in Heaven that loves you. A brother, and Savior that loves you. A comforter and guider, which care very deeply about you, The Holy Ghost.

Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. "

My parents may wish God NEVER came into MY life! I can't think about ANYTHING but JESUS, and the Holy Ghost, and GOD!!

Nope. I am a pagan. I was raised in a christian church by christian parents. They know that I am a pagan. They aren't thrilled, but they still love me and don't judge me.
They aren't your typical christians, I guess.

Never, I have two brothers that no longer adhere to our religion, and while my parents always hope they'll come back, they love my brothers and are part of their lives just as much as ever.

Maybe you should remind your parents of the story of the prodigal son - more importantly the behavior of the father in that story. No matter what, that father was welcoming to his son.

Nah, when I told my mom I wanted to quit CCD a month before confirmation, she was a little pissed, but let me choose my own path.

Chrsitanity and organised religion in general isn't for everyone.

It was very un-christian of your parents to disown you for that.
