If you mean a uk model dvd player, a voltage converter is fine but it wont change the supply frequency from 50uk to 60 us hertz which may affect the motor speed, depending on the internal electronics. A SCART is a SCART uk or US, but again many us av stuff has cinch or phono /RCA connectors, so your tv may not have a scart which is more european.

if youhave an adapter or a converter then you will be okay in my opinion. the DVD player will run and you will not have problems siince it is on the same voltage as everything US, and you might need a special since you are going from the European or whatever country you are from to the US. haveit in case-better safe than sorry!
