I think they should wear it if they want.ironically, the bible mentions the veil as well, not to mention that no movie or pictures of the biblical times show women without something covering their hair with relatively long clothing. Why is it that we choose to modernize something that was obviously necessary back then. If we should believe the BIble, its all or nothing, you cant pick and choose what you think is literal and what you think is just figurative.Furthermore, nuns wear the same head coverings only in black and no one looks down on them.

1 Corinthians 11:5-10: "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but tthe woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."

1 Corinthians 11:13: "Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God (with her head) uncovered?"

The "apostle" paul is the antichrist, don't believe him.

When reading about the veil and head coverings in the Bible, you must sometimes do a little research.

At no place in the OT does God command women to wear veils. Nonetheless, this was forced upon women by their male family members or husband as a sign of modesty. Moses also wore a veil whenever he'd just spoken to God, but for a different purpose.

All NT believers are free from such conventions. The passages you cite in 1 Corinthians does not pertain to women outside their church; it pertains to women inside the Corinthian church who prayed or prophesied. At that time in Corinth, it was unladylike to pray or prophesy without a head covering. This was because of Corinth's own social conventions. We do not see this commandment to any other church, because they had different social conventions. Again, though, the main point is that Paul doesn't advocate wearing a head covering or veil outside church.

Peace.

Like its hard to not eat pork? The jews and muslims dont. And I think that since the Bible was written by men most notably Paul who never actually met Jesus before he died and he 'said' that he came in a vision to him, that there is likely error in some of it. I doubt Jesus would say some of the things that are in there. Of course the council of nicea had alot to do with what was chosen to be in the Bible. Not to mention the variations made years after Jesus died by the Lutherans, Anglicans and Protestants to suit the current needs of the people. I believe that Jesus brought the Word of God but its been changed by people who wanted it to suit them.

OK, if you can't "pick and choose" from the bible, then you MUST:
-- not eat pork (and a bunch of other things)
-- women must hide in a room during their menstruation, and not see anyone or be touched by anyone
-- you must stone (often to death) people for a variety of offenses
-- you must offer regular ritual sacrifices -- burnt offerings -- of animal flesh, fat, and blood

I could go on and on...but I think you get the point. Do you understand that the bible is only two things: first, the written down former oral myths of the goat-herding, wandering Hebrews, which have no basis in fact. Second, a set of rules for THOSE ancient people to live by, NOT for you or I today. If you want to live as the Hebrews did 3,000 years ago then be my guest. The rest of us will happily live in the modern world, free from the superstitions of ancient ignorant people.

paul was writting to a church which had many ex prostitutes with their hair shaved the reasen to cover the head was so all women were the same . apart from that paul had been a pharasie of pharasies very firm in tradition it is not surprising he kept some of his old predjases when writing to the new churches.

Strangely enough, the only women in the bible who wore veils (other than on their wedding day) were women described as prostitutes.
