There are so many, from the ultra-formal traditional style to the more casual and modern styles that it would be a waste of your time and mine for me to spell them all out.

The text format is generally center justified, meaning each line of text is centered, but that's on the more formal style of invitations, and even that's not the rule anymore.

It also used to be traditional for the order of the names to be as follows: bride's parents, bride, groom, groom's parents. That's gone out the window, as well, as families are much more complicated now than they used to be, and sometimes the parents aren't even really involved in planning the wedding.

Your very best solution is to go to a stationer's where they print wedding invitations, and look at a sample book. Even if you do not have them do your invitations, you can get ideas about formatting, text, and wording from the sample books.

I have, recently, seen several very beautiful wedding announcements that were done at home with a good quality printer and good card blanks, and they are very hard to tell from the more expensive purchased type.

Essentially, it's up to you. Do what makes you happy. With any luck, you only have to get married once!

Agree with Sally. Check out the samples at a good card store. You can select the traditional or modern. Or have something original.

For the invites, in basic terms placed "Dinner reception to today shop on with" and the area of the reception, if it is not on the comparable place the ceremony is being held. you do no longer could desire to spell out what form of dinner, and you in basic terms could desire to place the entrees interior the invites while you're doing a sit down dinner the place the travelers could desire to decide for an entree. in case you wedding ceremony is exceedingly casual, then go forward and placed "and relatives" on the invites. while you're having a extremely formal wedding ceremony and reception, then it is beneficial to get the youngster's names. The envelope with the handle on it could nevertheless say "and relatives", however the interior envelope ought to assert their names, and the names of the youngsters for my section. you are able to easily deliver out your invites in 2 waves--out of towners go out 6-8 weeks formerly the marriage, or 4-6 weeks formerly the RSVP date, and in towners go out 4-6 weeks formerly the marriage, 2-4 weeks formerly the RSVP date. wish this facilitates.
