I think it is a good idea for someone who understands this question to write the answer in English, so that Westerners can understand it. There is far too much misunderstanding between our cultures.
And dude, this guy is learning English. That's the point of his assignment. Nobody speaks a language perfectly at first. The stupidity and arrogance of some people in my country shocks me.

In the Quran it says:
And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. 24:31 (Yusufali translation)
The idea of being fully covered is intended to be an issue of respectful modesty. Muhammad had among his several wives one who was Christian and another who was Jewish and they greatly influenced his special dealings with the "people of the book". The head covering for Jews and eastern Christians was a principle called "covering" that was a physical show. Greeks and Romans had a similar concept wherein every woman, no matter what her age, had a responsible man, but that is only part of the Judeo-Christian concept, which is part of why Jewish men wear a hat or scull cap and why Jewish and Catholic women have a scarf or shawl ready to drape over their heads at solemn moments. I had a friend who had a really pretty scarf head cover that she wore when she was in some parts of Africa. There were these pretty little metal weights at the corners and she could wear it essentially four ways: around the neck in the US, pulled up over her head as with a Catholic-type shawl, draped around her face in "liberal" moslem areas, and with an easy looping motion she hooked one corner around to make a very secure veil over her face and the fabric was thin enough that she could see out through it if she was in a rigid place requiring full face cover. Since it was thin, it wasn't oppressively hot. Good luck on your paper.

I think that it would be interesting to read and is a good idea, but please don't call it a scarf because you might offend people. It is called a burqua (or you can spell it, burqa, but both are acceptable) and it comes in many different lengths, but the purpose is to cover the eyes and/or face.
There, you have some information for your assignment, so now you can get started!
