They banned all hoodies on all kids in bluewater shopping centre because a minority shoplifted and caused mayhem. If we take this lead with the veil, what conclusion does this lead us too? Is religion being used as an excuse to 'victimise' one type of head wear but not another?

The answer is simple, how many veil wearers do you see mugging people, thieving stock from shops, drunk and acting disorderly on a Friday night etc etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting for one minute that hoodies do all that, I'm simply stating that big majority of women who wear veil, believe and follow Islam in a true sense (similar to nuns in christianity).
I think its very ignorant of a society to victimise entirely innocent women particularly by the close they wear. I'm sure some understanding on both sides will put this issue to bed in no time. some Tolerance please...... lol

this is an rather stable factor. i ponder whether Bluewater will ban veil's. If no longer, then the chav's only could desire to start donning veils!! additionally, financial employer robbers ought to apply the veil as a ability of stealth. If there is going to be a ban for headwear, it ought to be for all. i'm advantageous the pc brigade will make certain that veil's will settle for particular exception.

The veil is religious. The hoody represents a thug. Religion should always be respected. There are some people who won't take their crash helmets off when they go into a bank - same thing - it's still hiding their face.

There may be more objection to the niqab (face veil) than the hijab (head scarf). The identity of a woman is concealed with the niqab. If a man wears a niqab and head to toe abayah he may pass as a woman.

The hoodie is not a religious garb but may be associated with gang attire

Hello Cabin.

I don't think banning anything is good. Banning eats into your freedoms. Unfortunately I think that because our society is becoming more and more lawless (meaning no one cares about laws) the powers that be are having to restrict lives by giving themselves more power to control a society heading for a snowballing chaos.

Because hoodies were being used to commit crime whereas the veil is an expression of someone's faith. I believe that motorcyle helmets are to be removed in most places too but you haven't mentioned them.

I agree if the muslims enter a bank, filling station or post office then they should be made to remove their head gear who says they arent just covering their face so they can commit crime.
