No. Male cat's can not be in heat. Female cats have 2-4 heat cycles per year, that last about 20 days. Male cats do mark their territory by spraying and will display various changes in behavior if there is a female cat in heat in the neighborhood. Intact males will often run away to pursue or find a female cat in heat. Male cats (both intact and neutered) in rut will sometimes attempt to copulate with other males when females are not available. However, just like a male human can't have a menstrual cycle, a male cat can't have a heat cycle.

Regardless of whether or not your boys are fixed, your girly is going to yowl her toucas off during her heat. The worst time is during spring and summer months in which she'll go though heat cycles constantly. Meanwhile her being in heat will bring on the possibility of spraying, as well as the possibility of pyometra which will require you to get her fixed immediately, and the possibility of ovarian and uterine cancers. Pretty much every city has a spay/neuter clinic which is much less expensive than going to most regular vets and will make your life much nicer overall. My concern is why do you have her if you're not willing to fork out the cash to get her fixed? If you odn't have the cash to take care of something small like that, then what will happen if something big comes along and she needs emergency surgery? I'm not trying to put you down, but I'm just trying to save you a HUGE headache down the road, because cats can go through heat cycles anywhere from 6 months out of the year to year round, and after a couple of weeks of that stuff you'll be racing to the vet!

A double edged sword. The boy cat can't be in heat like a human man can't but he can get very interested when their is an appropriate lady around.
Will travel miles, roam around, quit eating and not groom himself. Fight to get out to meet the ladies and display agressive behavior just like the lion. He may also mark his territory by spraying and say to the boys keep away all ladies in this neighborhood are mine.
OK so is he fixed? That may help it may not cure it. Best idea is get that cat fixed as soon as is safe. Can be done cheap.
It will help with the roaming instinct.

Boy cats are always looking for females in heat.
Just like the human male, lol. Maybe there is a female cat around you place that is in heat that he is trying to get to.

Yes, male cats will begin spraying on objects. You will smell the odor right off, it's a horrible smell. Some males start wining and trying to get out. So unless your male is neutered, yes he can have a heat cycle. Good luck.

If they smell a female in heat, they certainly will act that way in response to the hormones in the air.
