"Does soda make people more thirsty?" My guess is that it depends on the person.

A better questions is.........does it dehydrate you and the answer
to that would be YES. Your body is made up of some obnoxious
amount of water....like 2/3's and by drinking soda
you are NOT replinishing your water; therefore, you become
dehydrated and some people think that by "quenching your thirst"
you are rehydrating and that isnt the case.

People think that any fluid rehydrates......not true.

"(Sugary fruit juices or sodas with more than 8% carbohydrates are not absorbed as rapidly by the body.)" A direct quote from webMD.... http://www.webmd.com/content/article/87/99468.htm

Hopefully, this will help with your project.

Good luck!!!

You're probably actually noticing more. I've noticed that when I start to get very thirsty, sugary drinks (such as sodas) are a very bad idea and don't quench my thirst at all. Your body is probably trying to flush a bunch of junk out.

yea soda does make people more thirsty because all of the soda and the flavor just makes you want more so you are more thirsty just like juice. so if you want to drink something and not be thirsty you should drink some water.I hope this information helps.

sugar does not make you thirsty, it is the salt content of the soda that will make you thirsty (Sodium). Drinking a soda when you are already thirsty will quench that thirst, but you will just get thirsty again because your body is not retaining water due to the salt content of the soda.

They don't make you more thirsty, all sodas do is not quench your thirst, no matter how much you drink it has to do with the shift of molecules interstitially in the body that prevents one from quenching the thirst when drinking sodas

yes, your body uses it's water to break down the sugar (hydrolysis) so that is can be absorbed into the bloodstream. and there's about 22 teaspoons of sugar in a can of soda, so just imagine how much water you need to break that down. And so your body needs to replenish its water supply...thirsty again!!!
