I bought my son a lighter for Christmas because he just likes to have something in his pocket to snap back and forth to fidget with, and he sometimes stares at the flame while he's thinking... his way of meditating while he's composing music.

He doesn't smoke.

But... he loves the lighter. He was Drum Major for his high school marching band, colors were silver and blue and the mascot was Eagles. This is a silver lighter with blue on one side and an Eagle across the side over the blue. It was a keepsake... a novelty... not a statement that I was hoping he would start smoking :)

Now... you need to decide if she's evil based on your total knowledge of her... not on this one gift. Now if she bought you cigarettes to go with it... she's evil - lol

Hmm, well, pot isn't that bad for pregnancy, I know people that have smoked through out their whole pregnancy, for example, my friend, she even had a few spots a day! She has a beautiful healthy baby boy now. Btw, before you decide to give me a thumbs down, I am not encouraging smoking pot when you're pregnant! I'm actually against it! I'm 19 weeks and I haven't touched pot since I found out. Just saying to not worry so much :) P.S Cigarettes are 10 times more deathly, has she quit those completely? P.S.2. Her friends could be using those pipes. P.S.3. Stress/high blood pressure is worse than pot. I think pot is quite harmless to the baby to be honest.

Yeah, pretty much. A keepsake, even an expensive or beautiful one, that reminds you of smoking isn't a nice gift. At the very least it's thoughtless.

Lots of "loved ones" feel threatened when a person tries to change and better their life.
Plenty of people tempt fat people with food when they're trying to diet, or offer smokers a light when they know they're trying to quit.
They are afraid of CHANGE----if you change one aspect of your life, you might feel you need to change lots of other things, like your girlfriend.
Ignore this, and live smoke-free.

How long have you been trying to quit smoking for? Have you told her? Maybe she forgot. I doubt she's evil.

no, evil would be buying you your favorite pack of smokes... taking a box out and packing it, slowly unwrapping the wrapper off of if, opening it up, ripping off the inside top package, taking one out, rolling it around her fingers, sticking it into her mouth, lighting it up, and inhaling and exhaling the smoke, in your face.

maybe she bought it before this latest "quiting" episode. Lighters can be used for more than cigarettes you know!

She probably had this picked out before you tried to stop smoking.
