The apostle John himself tells that at the time of seeing these visions he had been banished to the isle of Patmos "for speaking about God and bearing witness to Jesus"(Rev.1:9)John was banished toward the end of Emperor Domitian's reign, which ended in 96CE,right after which John was released. So quite possibly it was in that very year that John had the visions he recorded.
The Book of Revelation tells of Jehovah's judgments upon the wicked,it commends God's servants for their endurance, relates their coming off victorious and describes the eventual destruction of all the incorrigibly wicked and the final triumph of righteousness.
In many respects Revelation happily compliments the Book of Genesis.Just as Genesis 1:1 speaks of the creation of the heavens and the earth,so Revelation 21:1 speaks of a new heaven and a new earth. As Genesis Chapter 3 reveals how sin and death entered into the world,Revelation makes known the end of these. And as Genesis mentions a tree of life and a river issuing forth from Eden,so Revelation speaks symbolically of trees of life and a river of water of life issuing forth from God's throne.
It is a valid and vital book contained within the Inspired Holy Writings.

There are some who claim that the Book of Revelation was written around 68 or 69 AD. This would make Revelations come before quite a few books of the Bible. Some who use this earlier dating believe that the prophecies of John were all fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem, and no further fulfillment is to be expected. However, this is not the Mormon view. If all the prophecies were fulfilled then it would mean that nothing in Revelations refers to the end times, and that would change your opinion about the end times. Others believe that Revelations was written around 95 AD. If this late date is accepted then it may possibly be the last book written, though some believe the gospel of John and 3rd John were actually written later than that. It doesn't really matter, unless you are of the opinion that Revelations was the last book of the Bible, and this proves that the canon of scripture is closed and the Book of Mormon could not possibly be true. But this position fails on many other levels, and was certainly not the intent of statements made in Revelations.

Revelation was written approximately around 95AD by John the Apostle when he was on the Isle of Patmos. It was wriiten to the early churches in Asia and to all believers everywhere.
To your question whether or not it belongs to the original books of the Bible, the answer is yes. This book is very valid.

The Book of Revelation was written about the year AD 95 by John while he was in exile on the Isle of Patmos. It is an original book according to the Nicene council, and in my humble opinion, despite the differences that people have concerning it's interpretation, I find it to be very valid in that everything that is outlined in that book for the last generation (which I feel we're living in now, but that's another story)is readily able to be fulfilled in our eyes and our hearing. We have more knowledge in this day we live in to be able to understand the prophecies, but we have to read and study it from a first century perspective to try and understand the validity of the things John was shown in that vision. Remember, John never saw ICBM'S, computers, tanks, planes, atomic bombs and etc., yet there are several passages of Scripture in both the OT and Revelation that when read with a bit of "first century understanding" can reveal the possibility that John saw these things coming to pass and thus encoded them "accidentally on purpose" because of his lack of understanding and of God's command that the book be "sealed" until the generation that would see the restoration of Israel would be able to understand it's prophecies and prepare their souls.

It was written around 90 to 95 A.D. It is one of John's writings and it belongs to his group of writings. There is much validity to it. It is a book of mostly prophetic events most of which have not occurred as yet. Since John was the last of the twelve then it shows that there is some validity to it.
Some look at as a dream book. John was in a trance like state when he saw this vision or asleep. This is what God wanted John to write and tell about. Future events. His and ours.

It was written about 78 AD. It is valid, because it was written by the last living apostle, through the Revelation from God. How valid is it? Read it carefully, then take a look at the Middle East today. It will either scare you sh!tless, or thrill you, depending on if you are right with God, or not.

God was the original author of Revelations !
...Rev 1:1 The Revelation (A great revealing for the end of Days ) of Jesus Christ, which “God gave unto him“, (Did you we get that? “God gave to Christ”) to shew unto his servants things (His followers) which must shortly come to pass; and he (Jesus) sent and signified (Indicated) it by his (Christ’s) angel (Did we get that? “ gave Christ’s Angel”) unto his (Christ’s) servant John: (Did we get that? It’s finally given to John !”) Verse 2 Who John bare “record”( Did we get that ? John recorded it ! It what? “ of the word of God” ! ) and of the “testimony of Jesus Christ”, and of all things that he (John) saw. (And those visions John saw were given to him by God !)
...The sum of this is Jesus Christ will testify if needed to all of what happened here and the visions John saw! Please understand , I am not “taking away” nor “adding to anything” . Only commenting on what actually happened in the first two verses of Revelations..
...It does not matter what or which language God used as God created all languages.. When God wanted to relate a message to human kind, that message came in whatever language most convenient and men wrote it down in their own language for others to read..
… To many this does not mean to much but it is really important.. Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth (Christ) these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

The book of Revelation was written in about 90 AD, which is about 15 years after the last Epistle (I think).

It was written before 70 A.D. because the destruction of the temple is not mentioned. The book is very valid in that it has some 400 verses half of which are direct references to OT prophesy.

It is not known for sure, but it could have been written as much a one hundred years after the rest of the bible.
