Waxing doesn't hurt if you have it done professionally and it last a while and there is absolutely NO chaffing..it looks quiet perfect.
Veet (the stuff thats like Nair) has a razor less shaving kit that works quiet well.
But if you must shave
Don't sit in the tub..the hot water makes your skin bloat and you wont get the hair as deep. Use shaving cream and a clean razor. The key is to make the least amount of strokes as possible to keep irratation to a minimum. If you are super hairy use the veet first then go back over with a razor.

Use a brand new razor always!! Never use Nair or any of that stuff!( trust me I speak from exp) I made the mistake of trying it "down there" OMG it burned Stupid! I know!! I also made the mistake of telling my best friend, and she told everyone at the bar and when I walked in they all started rolling!!When your done use diaper rash cream for babies it will sooth the chafe.

some are waxed and go to a specailist and you dont have to shave just once a month for a waxing, some guys even like the waxing process since there is usually a woman applying it to you. and Some porn stars are bleached in the rear area a new thing and kits are sold for 'anal bleaching' and yes that is that name of that

You are either prone to chaffing or not I can shave it all clean but my ex couldnt without a huge rash but my wife I have now shaves daily....they say wax or nair if you cant shave. good luck.

i always do it in the bath, soaking in plenty of warm or hot water to soften the pubic hair, and plenty of soap, or moisturising shaving cream to help the razor glide. Do not use cheap razors. best to use razors with multiple blades, ladies razors are pretty good!
And of course.. BE CAREFUL!

use the razor with the conditioner block attached. cant recall the name its sold for women. do it in the hot shower at the end when everything is softened and relaxed, you can pull things taut.
