They may not be part of the major arcana but they are part of the minor arcana, so they are important in the Tarot. It's not just the Major Arcana that most people use when they read Tarot.

I have no idea what you are trying to say, but no, the Knights in a standard tarot deck are in the lesser arcana, a group of cards similar to a deck of playing cards, but composed of 4 "suits" - wands, swords, cups and pentacles. The major arcana is made up of named cards like The Fool, Temperance, Judgement, The Chariot, etc.
I haven't done tarot in a dog's age, so I cannot remember off the top of my head what is signified by a Knight card. However, chess and playing cards are two totally different games and tarot reading is something not even in the same ballpark.

The knights (chevaliers) are part of the minor arcana. They have disappeared from the modern card pack for reasons (I think) unknown. There are books of rules for the games that used to be played with the Tarot cards though.
Don't forget, the original concept of the tarot (much to the fury of the occult groups who'd like you to believe their stories) was to use games to remind people of biblical stories. So, there are games that use the complete pack and games that use a subset.

Why don't you read further into the applications of the Major Arcana, and the Minor Arcana ? You might not have to pose so many divvi questions if you do.

Why would chess pieces have anything to do with playing cards?
