what type of insect leaves a redorange stinger in skin?

i noticed my child had a welt on back and arm, when i looked closer i saw what looked like a redorange lancet or stinger in the center of it, what can it be? Worried mom. Thank you.

Sounds like a honeybee stinger. Honeybees leave their stinger behind as a self-defense.

If the child is allergic to beestings, get him/her to a doctor. If not, some topical anti-inflammatory cream and a kiss from mom should do the trick.
