Yes Altes Bier is still brewed by a number of different breweries ander a number of different names usually Schwarze bier. This bloke knows his beers

There's a beer by that name in Germany, around the Dusseldorf region if not nationally, and it's definitely on the market at the moment. Given the number of different types of beer in that part of the world, it may not be the one you're talking about. You should probably add your location and country, it would make it easier for people to help you.
