edo means a few things

It was the old word for Tokyou but literally Edo or 江戸 means estuary

it is also a buddhist saying meaning "impure planet"

Don't know the meaning, but wasn't Edo the former name of Tokyo?

I know Edo was the ancient name for Tokyo, Japan. But what it means, I have no clue.
