Some finches do migrate, but that doesn't mean there won't be birds at your feeders all year long. And even if a species does migrate, like American Goldfinch, maybe your summer goldfinches will go down to Louisiana and your winter goldfinches will come from Michigan. Anyway, no need to take feeders down, birds will do what they're going to do, and your feeders won't cause any problems.

Leave them up, the finches will stay all winter and will need the food supply.
