I moved into Texas a few months ago.As soon as we started to check out our new house and property along came a cat and dog. These 2 animals was overly friendly. We gave them no attention.Well after 3 weeks of living here I found out these animals belong to the people behind us.I would not feed the dog which looking at his teeth at that time he had to be like 4 1/2months old because he had his adult teeth except his canines. The problem is this dog refuses to go home and so does the cat.The cat is no problem but the dog keeps digging my puppies out of the pen, digging holes all over property, barking all night, starting to get aggresive with my cats, playing rough with my 23 month old, taking stuff out of everyones yards and chewing stuff up on my property, chasing and barking at moving cars and starting to bark and growl at people walking by.People has confronted me about this dog.The owner wont take no responsibility nor will she give us the dog so I can tie it up.Should I take it to the pound

Where I live there is a dog leach ordience but is not inforced and no kennels will take a complaint. We dont have our own kennels here. Its a small town.Im a animal lover. The owner and I have became friends.Just bothers me that she dont care. How ever she will be getting a bill for the stroller, balls, bike seats and lawn chair this dog has chewed up.This dog only goes home for a few minutes. It lives here but she wont give it to us.

Take the dog and cat to a shelter. If there is a shelter, rather than city pound, that holds strays take them there. The shelter should give her a harder time about being irresponsible than the pound will. Don't bother warning her that you will - you have already talked to her and she has shown that she will not take responsibility for them. The shelter will hold them as strays for the minimum state-mandated time, which will give the owner time to claim them if she wants them back. If she doesn't, hopefully they will be adopted to a family that actually cares about them.

Have a lawyer write up a letter threatening to take action if the dog is not properly contained. If the dog's owner is not taking responsibility for the dog and your property is being damaged and you are looking for advise on what to do here on Yahoo then the ball is in your court to do something about it.
You sound like you don't want any confrontation with the neighbor but you are at your witt's end. You could do the dog a favor and take it to the pound. Or you could also have your yard fenced.

I would tell the neighbor the either keep their dog on their property, or the next time he comes into your yard, you'll have no choice but to call the dog warden, or take the dog to the humane society. And if the dog shows up again, do it. Being a puppy, it would probably be adopted pretty quickly. Hopefully to a loving home this time.
Good Luck.

If you don't want to talk to her about it, and the warden will do nothing about it, I would take the dog to the humane society. I love animals too, but if she won't give him to you, there's nothing else you can do for the dog, except hope he gets a responsible owner that wants him this time.

(I would take it to one in a different town, just in case she goes looking for the dog and finds it and brings it back.)

Wow it sounds like a tough one.The best thing to do would be to call your local AC and register a complaint about the dog . Keep on doing it until something is done. I wouldn't take the dog to the pound. The majority of the times if they they are not adopted with in a certain period of time ,then they are pts.Last resort would be offer her some money for the dog ,maybe then she'll give you the dog.I feel very bad for this puppy. It baffles me how people can get pets then treat them like that. My dogs are like part of the family.

Call Animal Control and make a complaint. If they don't do anything about it, take the dog to animal control / pound and your problem will be solved.

People who don't take care of or responsibility of their pets tick me off.

Good luck!

Call animal control they should pic up the dog for running at large.
In most cities this is an offense that they will pick up the dog for.

Call animal control to have the animals picked up. You don't have to tell them you know who the owners are. Just say they are strays.

MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH ANIMAL CONTROL. IF THEY DON'T DO SOMETHING, THEN TAKE THE ANIMALS TO THE POUND.
