the medium through which you experience god is your awareness
all experience occurs through your awareness
if you want to experience god
you have to stop concentrating on your thoughts
because otherwise your awareness is consumed by thoughts
there is a nice couple of passages in the bible like
-come to me all you who labour and are heavey laden and i will give you rest
-be silent before me
-be still and know that i am god
-the kingdom of god is within
meditation works
you dont do something for thousands of years if it doesnt work
you just stop doing it
have a read of for example some tibetan dzogchen or mahamudra literature, mix a bit of dhanya literature and some eckhart tolle and if you get the idea and are interested you will probably be able to find a decent teacher near you
tibetans have been exploring consciousness with a scientific rigour at least equalling their western counterparts for hundreds and hundreds of years
this is why they know what they are talking about

You're not asking the proper question... There is no measures or processes to be taken in order to experience a dialogue with God. However, God can speak to us through our heart and through our families and friends. In order to experience a dialogue directly with God would in fact mean that you are one of Gods special chosen people like a saint or a martyr perhaps in the future. When you are in tune with yourself spiritually and you follow Gods laws with vigour and accuracy you can hear and see him working in your life. Its a way that God communicates with us with out direct dialogue and I have experienced it. In essence I am saying that in order to dialogue with God (really to have the opportunity to do so) you must cleanse yourself of all your sins and pick up your cross (your problems, hurts, sorrows... etc.) and follow Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life. This would be the shortest way I could answer your question and I hoped this helped. God Bless.

A dialogue with the almighty one eh?
Well as far as my non-christian self knows, you cannot actually hear the lords voice while you're alive or you will die. So death would be a step to take. Or you can go for the whole "praying" thing.

Pray without ceasing. Read your Bible. Pray expecting to receive an answer. Then listen for a response. It may not be a verbal one but you will know. Just pray first then start talking to God like you would anyone else. He will listen and in his time will answer.

it is good that you have your interest in talking with God. But before you will understand the wonder of it, you must have salavation and in salvation you must accept, believe and confirm that Jesus is Lord and that Jesus is the truth and the light and no other way to the Father except from Jesus.
