Hi Folks,

I was just wondering if you know of any website/company/people that give free advice on home remodelling? I'm looking forward to remodel an apartment in central London.

Thanks!

Following points raised by Steven W:

1) Preference:
Extend the downstairs toilet to include a shower

2) Reduce the size of the kitchen to increase lounge area

3) Change the lounge floor from wood (most of it coming out) to a cheaper, but durable.

4) Repaint interior (what's best? take off ageing wallparer and replace it? No wallpaper?)

2.5 Bedroom duplex apt
Budget: £15,000

No offense, and I'm in America, but I suggest here you might find some valid advice, and free.

Without more detail it might be difficult to advise. Your preferences, plans, goals, budget, aren't mentioned.

Home and Garden web sites. There is a lot of great information there. Good luck on your move and remember when you remodel, make it you, not another's ideas that you can not live with, and take your time. I found that by waiting a few months before starting on a project, I was looking at things differently and went in another direction for the remodeling.

Check on the websites of some of the paint companies (Dulux, Crown etc) - they often have packages you can download, whereby you can put a pic of your own rooms in there and manipulate the image to get different effects. Or even perhaps B&Q or Homebase.

There are lots of good sites out there that offer advice that will help you out. http://www.kitchenskey.com/ This is a good one for ideas and what your options are. It helped me when I was remodeling my kitchen a few years back.

via fact the unfold is black and white i could propose an extremely mushy silvery gray for the ceiling and a darker charcoal gray for the partitions. very almost something is going with black and white so %. a colour. Blue is a superb accessory with black and white. So is pink or dark pink. Use it interior the accessory pillows, rugs, lampshades and window coverings.

Gathering samples is a great way to begin. If you are starting with a color, your samples might include fabric, paint chips, wallpaper, carpet, wood, stone, and tile.
