Someone approached Jesus and said "Good master" to which Jesus replied "Why do you call me good, there is none good but God."
This may seem a little harsh (and I'm sure Jesus was strongly trying to discourage idolatry of himself) but one way to look at that this is that all good comes from God. And all that is real comes from God.
Therefore, everthing that is real is good - everything that is unreal is not good.
Seek God's reality within you and you will also find God's goodness. Seek God outside of yourself and you will find unreality (which is not good).

Learning for the sake of knowledge. Teaching for the love of knowledge. Kindness without giving a name, better yet, if the person never sees who did the kindness at all.
It is the best of all possible worlds where no one can ever be credited for doing a kindness, because no one knows who did them when they were done; they were done only because they were right.

New coat is good for wearing.
Old coat is good to cleanse the floor.
Worn coat is good to insert into blanket.
Disintegrated blanket is good to recycle into other new things.
