I had it all removed at the dentist's 2 months ago and it's coming back. I don't drink tea, coffee, alcohol and only have curry about every 6 weeks. What's causing this? I have immaculate oral hygiene, but I just don't know what's going on.

I don't smoke either. I drink 4-6 pints of water a day.

As per the situation explained it should not happen, unless your oral hygiene is not as immaculate. If you have had a course of antibiotics might also be one of the reasons. However, get back to your dentist and explain bit of your medical history. He/she would be quick to point out the cause. Good luck.

Are you brushing well enough with traditional toothpaste? I suspect your using an electric toothbrush, which I think doesn't clean half as well. I clean mine with a normal tooth brush twice daily, getting in between the gaps nicely and my teeth are whiter than white. I also drink tea occasionally and eat the odd sweet now and again (ps. sweets don't help - they can cause browning too)

Almost any drink or food that has color can cause that to happen. The next time you go for you bi-annual cleaning(I assume you go) the dentist can remove it. As former hockey player, I have a mouth full of implants, so it is not as difficult.

It's important to brush your teeth when you get up BEFORE breakfast and before bed. Use tooth whitening toothpaste with an electric toothbrush ensuring you brush well between your teeth. Next time you visit your dentist ask to see the hygienist who will be able to advise you or you could 'phone now and ask for advice.

Beware eating/drinking something contain zinc (Zn), try looking for tooth paste for those smoker, it might help get rid of those stain. In my country Indonesia the old folk with white and strong teeth use "daun sirih" for that.
I once have those stain too, since I used ZACT toothpaste by Lion Corp it all gone.

Seems to me like the dentist's work is not done! I mean it wasn't a permanent job they did - they removed the marks (stains) but did they treat the cause of it (or determine it for that matter). I think you need to revisit your dentist.
All the best

you probably have a cavity and need some work done. People should visit the Dentist every 6 month for a cleaning. The longer you wait the worse it will get.

You need to floss at least twice per day. Cola and Tea can cause it too.

It is called plaque, make sure you brush and floss daily. Also they have a tooth paste that deals with plaque, you may want to buy that.
