I say yes.
Heres some things you should know about it first though.
Your looking at approx. 8-10 weeks to heal. The most common problem in a small lump around the piercing, These are called granulomas, they usually occur because the jewelry has been knocked or taken out and re-inserted damaging the wound. The best cure is compressing it with warm water (not popping it) and sea salt soaks. Rings are easier to keep clean than nostril screws and they stay in better. Never get it pierced with a gun! Only a professional body piercer can ensure your safety. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. NO TOUCHING IT WITH DIRTY FINGERS! That is #1 reason for infection.

The main thing is that she goes to a clean, safe, professional piercer who can inform you of all proper aftercare and precautions. This is a rather simple piercing, but the main thing to steer clear of is someone you are not comfortable with. Keep in mind, the good piercers will show you that all supplies are sterile and in individual, unopened packages. They will also explain what they are doing as they do it. Piercing guns are NOT good for any piercing, so do it right.

As long as she cleans it and takes care of the piercing, there should be no problems at all. And the only thing to watch is when she blows her nose the first few times, it will be awkward. I have my nostril and septum pierced, so I've had all sorts of fun nose blowing adventures. And even if it falls out or she doesn't like it, there will be a TINY dot of a scar left and no one will notice it was there.

If you need more info or have questions you can message me and I'll be more than happy to help.

If u dont want her to do it....wait until she is 18 so she can do it herself....but as far as suggestions go....go to a clean reputable piercer, they will explain the procedure, and make sure they are using sterile equipment....cleaned from an autoclave. The one thing I will say though is that she needs to take good care of it becuase a nose piercing is one of the worst infections from a piercing...also if her nose ring falls out during the healing process have her piercer re insert it because if she re inserts is she will break the wound and a lump will grow in her nose (which can be healed by putting hot compresses directly on the lump). otherwise its not really that painful, but it hurts like a ***** to clean. My last word of advice...if a professional piercer answers this question, go along with them....because they know what they are talking about....I know what I am talking about because I know my piercer personally, and he drilled it in my head.

Yes I have advice. If you are planning on having any other surgery with in the next year or so have the surgery first. I had my nose pierced for 4 months and then I had surgery on my breasts and arms. The Dr. said I would have to remove the jewel. I did and it swelled up so bad that it healed and I could not get my stud back threw my nose. Just a warning. Have fun with it. I think it is pretty classy.

Make sure she goes to a good studio. They should be hospital clean (preferably cleaner) and have a portfolio of previous work that you can check out. Stay away from piercing guns (they can not be sterilized and are notorious for spreading disease and infection).
At the studio, make sure everything they use is packaged and autoclaved (sterilized). They should change gloves at least a few times during the procedure. (after touching anything that isn't sterile) They should offer good aftercare advice - sea slat soaks twice daily, no bactine, vasoline or any of the other silly things I hear people recomend.
They should answer all of your questions, make you and your daughter feel comfortable.

Well I have had my piercing for over 10 years and my biggest problems have been the boogey's and fake nose rings it makes the hole around the piercing black and may even infect it,and the boogey,s, every time I wear a nose ring (stub or not) I notice more boogey's than usual which can be a complete turn off and embarassment if it goes noticed by every one but her of course.

Go ONLY to a certified piercing specialist. The ladies at "Claire's" CANNOT do a proper nose piercing. Make sure she follows all of the after care guidelines and you shouldn't have any problems. I've had my nose pierced for 4 years now, and I have never had a problem with the piercing. Go to a specialist. Most tattoo parlors have a piercing specialist. Always look for certificates on the wall, autoclave in the building, cleanliness of the equipment used for tattooing AND piercing, and cleanliness of the building. It won't be as cheap to get her nose done professionally...but it will be worth it to go to the professional.

I guess I shouldn't share my experience! LOL I was 21 when I got mine done and YES I asked my mom for permission me and her have that kind of relationship and she said she would rather me get my nose than my belly (I already had my tongue done behind her back when I was 16) I was going to go to a TATTOO place and get it done $80 well I walked into a FLEA MARKET and the guy said $7 with a gun and I said whats the worst that can happen It gets infected and I remove it no biggy. So I did get it pierced with a Gun and as long as she keeps it cleaned shes OK. I cleaned mine 2-3x a day I would apply neosporin as well to The area. You will know when it gets infected its easy to spot at that time remove it.

I've had my nose pierced for like 3 or 4 years never had a problem with it, just follow the guidelines the piercer gives you for aftercare. You can buy tiny tiny studs you can barely see for her if you don't want it to be all out there.

they look like pimples.
that's pretty much it.
and its very hard to blow your nose and clean out the boogers.
And make sure she goes to a professional.
NO POSTS.
do not under any circumstances put a regular earing in a nose.
people do that do not deserve to be pierced.

ps. i have my septum pierced, which hurts much more than a nostril hole, but you didn't specify her piercing, so i just assumed it was a nostril piercing.
