I'm not a faithful myself, but I was raised a Catholic. It seems silly to me to worship a man - when in the same breath we call him God. Why not just believe in God? Why create a cult around Jesus? I should add, that I believe Jesus was God as we are all God. Only he was the first and most profound human being to realize it. When I say we are God, I mean that we are all created from God and in the likeness of God. So as part of God's creation, we have all inhereted a divine nature. And please, don't quote scripture to answer this question.

I think Christians insist on referring to Jesus instead of God in order to make themselves special/exclusive. They want everyone to know that Jesus is "my" god and he has given me all these things you can't have unless you believe it. Then they take it a bit further -- If you DON'T believe it, my kind and loving Jesus is coming back to condemn all non-believers to eternal damnation. And they profess to be such a peace-loving people!

Scripture is the only way to answer this question. John 14:6-17 Jesus is responding to the question (how do we know the way if we do not know where you are going?)

Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME (emphasis mine).
If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him."

Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us."

Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

Jesus goes on to say that He will not leave us orphans.....he will send the Holy Spirit. God is the Trinity. A triangle has three sides, yet it is ONE object. God is three persons in ONE God. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God and worthy of our praise!!

If you were "raised Catholic" you should know that.

How can you NOT quote Scripture to answer your question when the people who are responding to it think they are basing their beliefs on Scripture? The truth of the matter is that Jesus is not God incarnate. God did not come into the world; he sent his son. John 3:16. Jesus is not God, he said his Father is the only true God. John 17:3. Jesus is not God; he is the mediator BETWEEN God and men. 1Tim 2:5. Jesus is not God; he is the son of God. John 10:36. People who believe that Jesus is part of a trinity are in error. There is not one scripture in the Bible that says God is comprised of three co-equal, co-eternal persons. If you want Jehovah's blessings, you must do as Jesus directed. At John 4:24, he said: "God is a spirit, and those worshiping him must worship him with spirit and truth."

Jesus is fully man and fully God. We Christian worship the triune God (Trinity) as explained below:

The word "trinity" is a term used to denote the Christian doctrine that God exists as a unity of three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of the persons is distinct from the other, yet identical in essence. In other words, each is fully divine in nature, but each is not the totality of the Trinity. Each has a will, loves, and says "I", and "You" when speaking. The Father is not the same person as the Son who is not the same person as the Holy Spirit who is not the same person as the Father. Each is divine, yet there are not three gods, but one God. There are three individual subsistences, or persons. The word "subsistence" means something that has a real existence. The word "person" denotes individuality and self awareness. The Trinity is three of these, though the latter term has become the dominant one used to describe the individual aspects of God known as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

By no way, do christians worship a Man! Instead they believe in what is known as the devine Trinty, The Father ( God), The Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. All of the above are one being which is believed to manifest in three seperate forms.

Jesus is not worshipped as The Father. He, as the son of God, is the "way" to get to God. Just like Catholics pray to Saints, and to priests, because they believe them to be Closer to God...so too, do Christians pray to Jesus. It's like having an IN with the Big Guy!

Jesus said, No one comes to the Father, without me..."

Not too sure what you're basing your philosophy on but if it's the Bible you might want to pick that one up again.

Christians believe in the holy trinity. The Godhead three in one. Father, Spirit, and Son. They are all of the same divine being so worshiping one is worshiping all three.

Since Jesus is the word of God it is impossible not to use the word to explain and this misconception of Jesus is how Satan is playing Yankee doodle dandy on the church.Jesus is and was the word of God made flesh, and even said in Revelations when John fell at his feet to worship him...do thou not,I am of thy prophets that have the testimony.....worship God.Jesus gave his church the same power as he had, and he said that to whom the word of God came ...Ye are Gods,so I can't even argue with what you said other than not being able to use the word.

I agree with you it is silly and you bring out some very very good points, Jesus is not God!
JESUS never claimed to be God. Everything he said about himself indicates that he did not consider himself equal to God in any way-not in power, not in knowledge, not in age.
In every period of his existence, whether in heaven or on earth, his speech and conduct reflect subordination to God. God is always the superior, Jesus the lesser one who was created by God
Why would all the God-inspired Bible writers speak of God as one person if he were actually three persons? What purpose would that serve, except to mislead people? Surely, if God were composed of three persons, he would have had his Bible writers make it abundantly clear so that there could be no doubt about it. At least the writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures who had personal contact with God's own Son would have done so. But they did not.

Jesus is not the incarnation of the Father. He is the eternal Son of God and he accepted to be adored in his encarnated form. There is no problem whatsoever to adore Jesus.
