If you believe that the stories in the bible are literal, even you must realise it is physically impossible for a man (Noah for example) to live to be 600 years old.
If you believe the stories are metaphorical, then they are not TRUE.That being the case, how can you be so sure that any of it is based on fact?

they have been taught to believe in things they can't see. You can ask them any relevant question about logic and will derive the same response. they just believe.

I dont think they are convinced that non believers are wrong, otherwise they would not feel the need to project their own beliefs, unless they needed validation of what they believe. I think that this is true nature of all men. And as far as the bible goes it a book that has many metaphorical messages, in which can be perceived differently from the author, and the reader.
I wish you well.

About Noah. The bible says he lived about 600 odd years. It also says that Adam and Eve were in fact Perfect. Meaning they wouldn't die, get old, get diseases etc. The descendants of Adam therefore would be also closer to immortality, and therefore live alot longer than us (who are much farther away). The Bible is exact. It says a 'story' or 'myth' but it never refutes it. After the flood, God actually says (or was it before?) that he saw that the hearts of man were bad and that he would cut their years to 100. Cool huh? Even scientists cannot refute the Bible for long. For instance in Psalms, it writes about the "Sphere of the earth". Now how could people about 3000 years ago know the earth was round? Hmmm?

What you basically defined is any futile argument, it may desire to be approximately any situation. Christians are to no longer attempt to coach or disprove God, it quite is like attempting to coach or disprove George Washington. the two you think that Washington became the daddy of our u . s ., or you do no longer. Christians have been asked to "plant the seed," of Jesus. Christians are to no longer argue the factor. as quickly as the seed is planted, it quite is as much as the Holy Spirit. the two somebody accepts, or they do no longer. anybody, Atheists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, start up making "baseless assertions," while they argue. Christians do recover from-zealous, however the inducement at the back of it is that Christians try to describe that we are all going to die, it quite is the wages of sin. notwithstanding, there's a savior. So there's a purpose at the back of Christians strikes. What i don't get is, what do Atheists could income by arguing against a Christian? Are they attempting to maintain the Christian from eternal dying? in case you do no longer settle for Christianity, why argue approximately it. in simple terms flow approximately your corporation.

The answer to your question would be the same with the answer to this question:
-------------------------------------
Why are the non believers so in doubt about religion?
-------------------------------------

And the answer would be the same too (and if there are any other answers, it would be an extension of this answer) :
Because every person has different oppinion, and as humans we tend to invite/force other people to believe the same belief with us.

Anyway, about a sentence in your question, "it is physically impossible for a man (Noah for example) to live to be 600 years old". No, no, you (might be) wrong. Who knows if ancient humans can live longer than modern humans?

Okay, listen to this, it is so simple and if people just listened to their convictions and found Jesus, then all these kind of questions would be answered if you were a Christian. God said it happened and it did, I won't question the Almighty who created ME, and so therefore I have no right to question Him who is the God of all creation. Basically you are not going to understand why we believe it because you are not a believer and you have to be in order to understand even the basic's of the Christian faith. I hope that you hear me out on this and might decide to follow your heart and maybe turn to Jesus. Have a great day and I hope I didn't sound rude to you or anything. God bless, Matt

I believe there are historical facts in the Bible and that it is allegorical and not literal. The historical facts are interpreted in the Bible by the various writers.

I am a christian and I am not convinced that non believers are wrong. But what people don't understand is that the calendar may have been different back then. 600 years could have been the same as 100 years now.

The great value of the Bible has been tested and proved for 2000 years. Can you point out any other book of tremendous wisdom like that written at that time?

Alto of Christians have had this religion instilled in them for years, by parents whatever. I suppose its like a sort of addiction. They just follow it out of habit after a while, and would find it difficult to change their way of thinking.

Because you live by the same message we do, and quit using the old testament for an argument it holds no merit now it's been fulfilled. the new testament changed all that.
