I don't know. We'll have to wait for the polls won't we? I think the recent spike in the stock market will help the republicans. But,will it help them enough? The majority of people are fed up with the spending habits of the current administration and the war. The election results will tell which are the bigger issues.
Fear motivates most people at the polls. And so many people are convinced that our current administration keeps us safe. This fact is the toughest issue for the dems to deal with because it is based on pure emotion and not based in fact or logic.
I think the stock market spike is temporary and the dramatic cost reduction of oil that recently occured after a huge increase caused the jump in numbers at the market. In my opinion, it was an orchestrated effort to increase the stock market with much the same result as reducing interest rates. Either way, it will help the republicans.
I think it's a crap shoot.

As a conservative I am not happy with the current congress and the fact that they have betrayed some of the principles that the people who put them in power, ex runaway spending won't close the border. But look at the choice I have I could teach them a lesson and stay home. but look at what I would get even more spending, increases in taxes wide open borders and propensity to want to run or negotiate when the going gets rough (ex Vietnam,Iran Somalia Iraq) which usually leads to more aggression around the world because your enemy sees you as scared so I quess I will have to vote.

During the last 6 years our small business has really been able to grow. I hope the Republicans remain in office. Instead of being in lower middle class we are now firmly in middleclass reaching for upper!

Republicans hoodwinked us into thinking that they were for the average citizen. They played on issues like security to scare us into thinking that they had the answers. their answers were only to let business take care of everything. Bush got us into this war for oil and to run up the debt so we wouldn't have any money left for social programs. He has done his job hasn't he.
