They don't vote, so the government can persecute them all it wants. Easier than losing votes by picking on the middle classes.

ILLEGAL ALIENS Comprise Only 5 Percent Of The Workforce

They Are, By No Means, The "Workforce Of This Country"

There Are 300 Million CITIZENS In The USA

The Citizens (Taxpayers) Are The Backbone Of The USA

First, let me say, immigrants are not the only workers in this country. I assume you're talking about the U.S.
Secondly, the government isn't after immigrants, only the illegal ones.
One definition of illegal is "against the law". So I'd like to ask this question of you.
If it is alright to break this law....why can't we break all the laws. Without punishment.
Millions of naturalized citizens have managed to come here through the proper channels. Most were poor, or of modest means. Very few are independently wealthy. Where there's a will, there's a way. And if they can do it, so can the rest.
There should be no preferential treatment given to some, simply because they're from neighboring countries.

If you mean "illegal " immigrants, the government SHOULD be after them a lot more than it is now. Seems to me the government now is doing almost nothing to chase them down and round them up, and I don't care how many millions of them there are. Once you start to adopt a real harsh policy towards illegals eventually the word will filter back. Once they realize they are in for worse treatment here than where they come from it will be a step in solving the problem.

I would not go so far as to call them the "workforce" of the country. They are a major "criminal element" instead.

Thats total BS to say that the immigrants are the "workforce" of this coutnry.

I am a "native" Briton and everyone in my family works their **** off. Sometimes in crappy jobs they are over qualified for because all the jobs they want are being given to Poles and other imimgrants who work for less. So we end up struggling for money.

Yes there are some lazy Brits who don't work but for every one of them I'm willing to wager there is a lazy scrounging asylum seeker who has come here to get benefits and NHS treatment and free accommodation.

Immigrants should GO HOME and stop bleeding this country dry.

Why do you support illegal immigration? Do you understand that you're promoting breaking the law? Chances are you do, but I've learned that trying to change people's minds is a pretty futile act, but you CAN promote good legislation to reduce the negative effects of pro-crime attitudes.

We need to shine a Really Bright Light on the illegal immigration problem, and start handing out fines to those that aid and abet illegal immigrants. Sting em in the wallet a few times, and maybe they'll start to understand that what they're doing is wrong.

They are after illegal immigrants. American citizens and legal immigrants are the only ones who should be the workforce of this country.

Most likely that the majority of the immigrants are paid cash in hand. This has numerous repurcussions for the governemnt:

1) They got no PAYE tax or NI contribution.
2) They are taking the job of someone else (local). In turn this means the government is paying dole to someone who could otherwise have that job. So it's a double whammy with point one.
3) To discourage a further influx of illegals that further cripple the economy and harmony of the country.

There is more to this issue than you know..............In 3 years time 12 million immigrants from Mexico alone came across the border ...........Many wanted an escape from their country where conditions are harsh in many ways........Cost of living is so low.. There is no health care....But My main point here is that in 1095 days12 million people came with nothing but the clothes on their backs.......Bless their hearts..........they want a better life..........So where do you think they are all (12 million people) are going to live?............How are they to buy food?........How much work is there for 12 million to find? Many are criminals ! They will overcrowd our jails meant for legals here............Everyone wants the government to help these people with jobs, food ,housing, child care, medical, hospitialization, dentistry, mental health, pregnancy, .............Do you understand the difficulty now because Every penny in this country comes from our paying TAXES.......Do you understand where your tax dollars are spent?
And now the government needs to come up with millions more out of a hat because taxes have not been raised by president Bush....And if he were to raise them everyone would complain...He can't win for losing.......Don't forget we are the government..........We pay for Everything..............I don't care if they come here........Just do it legally .....get a green card, etc.....Because once they are legal, then taxes can be taken out of their pay instead of being paid under the table, and yes employers should be punished for cheating the government(us).

When a person breaks the law to enter a country, they are in
that country illegally. It is the American taxpayer which picks up the tab for social services for this "workforce"...
Companies hiring illegal workers deflate the labor
wage for law abiding citizens. Companies will exploit
any source to lower the bottom line.
