it seems by the norm what i have found is overly priced, and hard to get reservations for, they seem few and far between.

For Bogota, you could try the classifieds in El Tiempo. Just click on
http://www.eltiempo.com/

Here, just click on this link:
http://clasificados.eltiempo.com/braices/index.php

Then, from the drop down menus, try either of the following sets of choices:
Turismo, Alquilan Apartamentos. Then click on Buscar. That seems to list several places for rent in Cartagena. These are apartments for rent. Or, you could click on Alquilan Fincas and rent yourself a finca (which is like a country house or hacienda).

OR,
Click on Arriendan, Apartamentos, and then pick a zone. I would advise to NOT pick Sur, and even Chapinero and Centro have many not so great areas. Norte is good, all the neighborhoods you will find there are good, such as El Nogal (around 77th Street and 7th Ave), Rosales, Bosque Medina (although that is quite a bit to the north, around 130th Street and 7th Ave).

How long are you looking to rent for?
