Okay I have read Most of the Bible, much of it several times over...
I consider myself a CHRISTIAN...
But/However...
The concept of having been here before, even many times rarily if ever leaves my mind.
And I do not mean being reborn as a butterfly...Unless that is what I choose to experience...
I feel I am here not just as a Student...but a Teacher as well, to learn important Spiritual lessons.
With that said, I do believe the soul has a memory, and I feel pretty sure we can come back as many times as we want, or need.
To help our own Spirit or Soul... as well as others, to achieve SPIRITUAL GROWTH...
I mean what is life anyway but a series of LESSONS?
I believe when I have Finished my TASK I will be called HOME...To PARADISE, and I mean one which is INDESCRIBABLE in beauty...not just something like 10 virgins... :) (well uh you know ...SORRY)
Oh yeah, my PARADISE is filled with millions of beautiful precious and semi-precious gemstones,or just lots of cool rocks!!!

Rivers and streams full of material to find, or just leave and enjoy forever...DJ.

This does sound good but the Bible says "One life, one death, one resurrection." So that is enough for me. As for Paradise, I believe Heaven will be how you describe it and much, much more. I don't think our minds can wrap around what God has in store. Blessings to you.

I believe I am Christian too. That does not for me eliminate the "wonderings" regarding the after life. I sometimes think we may "live" in a different realm, maybe a different world maybe many times over. I don't think these possibilities are incompatible with God, or even the Christian beliefs.
I loved your personal vision of heaven. While we occupy these earthly bodies, we may and do each have our own vision/hope of what paradise may be. For me it would be the hope of learning the answers to all our earthly questions, a true understanding, and I pray there will be some manner of consciousness, connection with the souls we know and a real and visual experience with God.

Yes. The soul is composed of the mind, the emotion and memory. Scientist refer to the memory as the subconscious.
Og Mandino calls it the "mysterious force that makes me do things in ways I can not comprehend." This is the individual record of our karmic rewards and responsibilities. That is why the Bible teaches us charity and forgiveness to make us look well today for tomorrow. We are told that giving is more blessed than receiving, and that we must forgive our brother 70 times 7 times. We can only do that by inter-acting with our fellow human beings. Those who say that there is no reincarnation in the Bible should consider this. Elijah came back as John the Baptist (Matthew 11:14). (Genesis 4:15 And the Lord said unto him (Cain), Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.) How can vengeance be taken 7 times on him who kills Cain if there is only one lifetime.

The Bible says it is appointed ONCE to die. So much for coming back as anything. you should have come across that. You are a spirit---the real you that will either be with God for ever or go to hell (it's up to you)---you have a soul----mind, will, and emotions and you live in a body.-----There is no reincarnation the only earthly life is the one you are living now.

You're a wise person for realizing your eternity. You won't find many people who do, especially here in the R&S category. Come on over to the Yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_sensible_reincarnationist/ if you'd like to talk to other wise souls.

As for that "once to die" idiocy:

Apparently you didn't read not very well, as the Bible says the soul is the blood and dies with the body.
