Hi, first off have you had any major changes like diet, have you lost or gained a lot of weight quickly? Have you had any emotional stress? Had any surgery? These can all lead to massive hair loss. Don't put all your faith in shampoo. You should focus on the inside. I had the same problem as well as some of my clients. The absolutely best product is OPC3. Its an antioxidant that helps stop the hair loss. I noticed that with in a month my hair loss was minimal and it actually started to thicken up. You should check with your doctor just to make sure there is not a greater problem. If your interested in the opc3, ask him if there is no reason why you could not take it. This is where you can check. www.deniseharper.unfranchise.com Good luck

I had the same problem. It worried me...I would pull out hand fulls in the shower and when I combed. I recently lost about 40 lbs...I assume that is why I also lost some hair. I hit the protein foods (peanut butter, meat, eggs & tuna) HARD. And I take a multi vitamin every day and some omega oils and a B-complex. It has helped. I have to remember to eat though. Sometimes I just don't want to. Have another 30 lbs or so to go...would like to have hair when I'm done though. :)
I think sometimes a thyroidal problem will cause hair loss (which makes sense in my case because that does tend to do something with weightloss too) you should probably see your dr. Can't hurt to have a check-up.

There are many factors that can attribute to hair recession or massive hair fall and you need to find out which one exactly is responsible for the problem you are having now. Of course male pattern baldness is still the most common cause, but, for instance, if you are a woman things are deinitely different! This is the reason why you will need to really dig down and see the source of your problem.

Other causes of hair loss may include (both in men and women): severe mental or emotional stress, excessive use of coloring or bleaching agents, traction alopecia or excessive strain on the scalp due to braiding or corn rowing, hormonal changes, alopecia areata or hair loss due to autoimmune diseases, and many more. Each of these conditions will require a different approach in order to achieve success regardless of whether you're going to be using conventional or natural methods.

In my opinion it's much better to use natural methods as opposed to conventional ones, they're cheaper, have less to no side effects, and often more effective.

A good way of regaining your full head of healthy natural hair is well described on this guide: http://hairagain.toptips.org

There are various types of massaging techniques, which can be followed. Indonesian style is best suited for relieving mental tension and improving the quality of the hair. The massaging steps are given below in detail:

1) Stand with your feet apart and start breathing in and out

2) Bend from the waist till the level of your head falls below the waist area.

3) Bring your feet close to each other and start rubbing your scalp with your knuckles all over your head for about half a minute.

4) Slowly start bringing your body to the normal level and continue rubbing on the scalp.

Be careful that when you are massaging your scalp, do not massage roughly. The hair fibers may split causing you pain and damage to the hair. So massage gently and thoroughly.

You have to unblock your pores from build-up before any vitamin shampoo can work ! Do this with a deep cleanser treatment. Then there is such a thing as a follicle stimulator spray. You could also have an imbalance of DHT; in which case Emu oil helps. Check out the hair articles in the newsstands mags.

It simply depends on the person. If I am really active, I do need to wash my hair every day. If not, every other day. A friend of mine, however, cannot wash her hair more than once per week, otherwise it'll start splitting and breaking. As to using cold water, I wash with warm water and rinse with cool. That retains more of the moisture. I hope this helps. :)
