My rule of thumb is to reduce time by about 20 per cent when going from a Bundt pan to 8 inch loaf pans.
Your regular time is 80 minutes, so a likely time will be 65 minutes.
I always do a toothpick check 5 minutes before expected completion of baking.

Pound cake
is called a pound cake ,
because it uses a pound of each of the main ingriedients
So the classic pound cake recipe of course contains a pound of butter and a pound of sugar ,a pound of flour, a pound of fruit etc
3 cups cake flour (1 pound )
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoone mixed spice
6 large eggs
1 pound butter
1 pound sugar
** 1 pound of mixed dried fruit **
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
1/2 cup buttermilk ( ordinary milk will do )
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
prepare;
one large cake tin
or two smaller ones
greased and lightly floured
Sift the flour, baking powder and spices +salt
into a large mixing bowl.
beat the sugar and soft butter
together till creamy
.Add the eggs, beaten well
with one large tablespoon of the flour( to prevent seperation )
blend in the buttermilk + vannila essence
Now add this mixture to the flour,
mix a and blend well
add the fruit .
if the mixture is too stiff
add a little more milk --( dropping consistency )
Pour the mix into the cake tin (s)
, bake for 1 hour and twenty minutes.
check with a skewer ---if that comes out clean it is done .
Allow the cake to cool, 15 or 20 minutes
before, you turn it out, onto a cake rack ,to cool completely
Note ;
** you can use cherries -
or blueberries ,
or dates and pecan nuts== as alternative fruit **
Go mad! use i pound of brandy soaked! raisins!!LOL!
reciepe is easily halved, for a smaller cake
One or two smaller cakes,
wil not, take more, than 1 hour to bake
( test with a skewer as above )
enjoy!
