My reason is that there are so many delish meals that you make from meat, and so there is a limit on how nice you can make a meal when you're only using veg. Like spag bol - I love that, but without quorn mince what could I have? Bolognese sauce on some spaghetti, not very nice! I have nothing but fruit and veg all day (like salad for lunch, a baked potato etc) but when it comes to having a nice dinner there's only so much you can do with roasted veg! Meat eaters base their meal around chicken, beef, sausages, mince - and so do I. Also, people's argument that quorn is tasteless compared to meat is actually encouraging to me - it's not a 'fake meat', it doesn't have the same texture or taste at all and so it's just a different thing to put with all the other ingrediants. I've been to people's house for dinner where I've had to say "no please don't go out your way to do something else special for me" because I feel bad about it and want to eat what they're serving everyone else, so I just ask if I can bring along some faux chicken and they do the rest the same. I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that my family and most of my friends eat meat, so I've gotten a lot of recipies and meal ideas from them, wihch are based around meat - maybe I would be different if I'd grown up with some more inventive ideas about veggie meals, but as you say quorn is a great low fat source of protein and very filling too!

Im a veggie. Quorn burgers are ok on the bbq and Quorn mince as long as you flavour it. I dont really feel the need for fake meat but have Quorn now and again. One thing that Quorn use to do which tasted so authentic was hot dogs but they stopped doing them ages ago, but I couldnt tell the difference.

Yes I'm vegetarian...oh. the rest of the question isn't for me!
my husband isn't veggie but he likes quorn and sometimes asks that i use quorn mince or pieces in recipes instead of meat because he prefers them. My daughter is only 2 and she likes quorn better than sausages but she likes a roast even better than quorn!
What's the deal with meat eaters vs quorn today?

I've had Quorn before both in mince form which wasnt that great as it went mushy. The chunks were fine as a stir fry. Some prepared Quorn meals are better than others.

I have tried it on several occasions. It is quite nice if it is mixed with a spicy or strong sauce like chilli or sweet and sour. Also Quorn make these things that are like chicken burgers in breadcrumbs which are quite alright. If you use it in any other way though I have found it very, very bland. Rather just have veggies than quorn without sauce. The sausages are horrid.

I am not a vegetarian but i have tried quorn sausages. They are revolting. The texture was like some sort of fungus and the taste was non existant.
If that is what you think meat tastes like maybe that is why you're a veggie.

I'm not a vegetarian, no. I have tried Quorn, but I just didn't like it. Seeing as I am a meat-eater, there is no reason for me to substitute meat with anything else.

I'm not a vegetarian.
I won't eat vegetarian food out of principle. (I'm sort of an anti-vegetarian)
Let me set this straight, I've got nothing against vegetarians, but I feel that as we evolved eating meat, we should continue to eat meat. I will not eat a vegetarian meal. I have to add a slice of meat or an egg to a meal to make it complete in my eyes. If I had a vegetarian meal at a friend's house, I would probably have to open the luncheon meat (or whatever) in my fridge when I got back to counteract it.
This may be an obsession, but I will not voluntarily eat vegetarian meals.
And btw, I have hunted and skinned my own meat before, so that's not an issue.
