I've known him for about 2 years. I just asked him to the dance thats tonight, but, now i cant go. How should I go about telling him?

Look lady. You like this guy. Find a way to go to this dance. If you don't then you might hear about him on "lovers" lane with another lady. Now you don't want this to happen. Don't make excuses, you find a way to go to this dance. In life we all can do things if we really want to. Its like this, either you like the guy and you want to start a relationship or you want him just to be your pal. You decide. If you don't go, don't get upset if he winds up with another female to spend the evening with. So do not blow it, find a way to go and you will be glad you did.

dangg..i hate when plans get broken...it SUCKS....but don't tell him over the phone, he might think that you're punkin out on him.. just go up to him in person, and tell him how you feel....that you like him, but then, break the news about why you can't go with him tonight, but you'll make it up to him with another night of fun... this way, he'll have a little bit of time to find a date, and he will have something else to look forward to.

Just tell him you cant go! Why is it so hard for women to just be straight about things, yet they expect men to be? Its not like you would be telling a lie. Tell him you cant go, but if you are able to have him over that night, ask him if he would like to come over and watch a movie or something.
Seems pretty simple to me,
