If you are talking about the Jewish Year, it started on September 23rd this year and passover is in the spring time.

Passover happens on Nisan 14 which is usually 14 days after the new moon nearest spring equinox
Their calendar did start with the month of Nisan

in the bible the first month is NISAN which is march-april and since the passover is the 12th day in april at sundown so its in the month of IYAR which is april-may which is the seconed month in the biblical calendar
