How many of you believe Jesus Christ is God?

If so, and Mary is his mother, than how can you claim she is not the Mother of God?

And how can you call the Bible a liar, too:

Luk 1:39 And Mary rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda.
Luk 1:40 And she entered into the house of Zachary and saluted Elizabeth.
Luk 1:41 And it came to pass that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.
Luk 1:42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said: Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

Luk 1:43 And whence is this to me that the mother of my L O R D should come to me?

Mary is the mother of Jesus.

God reveal himself in 3 persons.
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

So, if you believe that Jesus is God. Therefore Mary is the mother of Jesus.

Therefore, Mary is the mother of God.

I believe Mary is the mother of God Almighty if two criteria are met in the Bible: (1) that Mary is the mother of Jesus and (2) that Jesus is God Almighty. The scriptures most assuredly teach that Mary was the mother of Jesus. But I can find no teaching in scripture that Jesus is God Almighty.

This question is thought provoking, but as a Protestant Christian I think of it as a twist on words. Mary was the mother of the person Jesus in flesh, however not the mother of God. (Even though God appears in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).

I understand that Catholic Christians think of Mary as the mother of God. I don't ascribe to this belief; I feel as if there is too much holiness attributed to certain people-in-the-flesh by this creed, for Mary and for "saints," and for the Pope, this is all contrary to my faith. However, the eye does not need to understand the logic of the ear.

When Jesus was here on earth, I believe that he experienced fleshly things that we do - hunger, pain, temptation. Mary was the mother of this vessel.

ADDED LATER - I was concerned about my ignorance about the Catholic branch of Christianity, so I did some research. Look into the following website in order to see that even in Catholic official writings, Mary is not considered the "mother of God" in the sense of contributing to his deitism, but rather, was "God-bearer" [theotokos] in respect of his humanness.

Thank you for the question, I have grown from it.

Yes, Mary was Jesus' mother. But God was His Father. The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and impregnated her. As for Mary, she was just a young girl who wanted to serve the Lord. She was used for God's glory and so can we all.

I know that mary is not the mother of God, she is the mother of Jesus. There's a difference.

Here is a fact: because Mary gave birth to the Son of God, (Jesus) and because she is the Mother of the Son of God who is also God, she can be called the Mother of God.

NOT the true believers. True believers including all the 1.6 Billions Muslim present on the phase of the planet and all the creatures of the ONLY ONE GOD. Mary (peace be upon her PBUH) is the mother of prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).

This is the how GOD describes HIMSELF in HOLY QURAN chapter 112.

[112:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

[112:1] Proclaim, "He is the One and only GOD.

[112:2] "The Absolute GOD.

[112:3] "Never did He beget. Nor was He begotten.

[112:4] "None equals Him."

NO ONE can challenge this. Except ISLAM, all other religions on the phase of this planet including their so called human gods cannot fit in this category.
