Id say yes and no. no doubt she was raised with racist beliefs (which was very common in our grandparents generation,my grandma is also racist) and its hard to sway away from something you've been taught your entire life, especially when you're old. Old people hate change. But she is an adult and capable of forming her own beliefs..but I guess she just never questioned what she was taught. Good luck trying to talk her out of it. Its hard to reason with older people but sometimes it can be done. If it bothers you just point out to her that every race has their problems, as well as every race has their good points, and we cant put every problem off on another race. Your grandmother isnt a bad person because of that, just, like you said, a product of her generation. If you ask around I'm sure you'll find that many people around her age have some of the same racial beliefs as she does.

She probably only has friends of her own race and hasn't got to know anyone from a different race. People have preconceived ideas about other races until they get to know someone from another race. It's always someone elses fault that the Country is so bad, how come people always blame immigrants for the state of their Country, they should look at themselves. And no I am not an immigrant, I just believe that everyone should be given a fair chance in life.

Actually, we are usually a product of our environment...
what our parents believe and talk about as we are growing up is what we learn as our values.
It is unfortunate that it happens but small minds, naive people and uneducated people are often the followers of some biggot who has made an impact on them..
