If what your son has is eczema going to the doctor is the fastest way to clear it up. They can give you something stronger than what you can buy. My son had really bad eczema on the backs of his knees and within a couple days it was gone.
You will want to avoid putting stuff on it that has perfumes and dyes. They say to moisturize use Vaseline (petroleum jelly). It could be food allergies or it could be environmental. Think if you changed anything. It could even be the material of his clothes. Here is a pretty good website with some info.

Hi there. Boy do you sound just like I was with my first. I think it's a first time mom syndrome. We kinda want everything to be perfect you know, babies must do things at certain times etc. Unfortunately doesn't work like that. Firstly the NORMAL age for walking is from 9-18mos with the average being around 12-13mos. My daughter was 15mos before she walked. My son is now 11mos, walks us all over the place with one hand but won't cruise and can't stand on his own yet, and is just starting to learn how to crawl. Kids develop one area at a time and while they are working on one area others go by the wayside, so you might find he's been developing fine motor skills or something else first. It's frustrating though I know. My 11mo old also just throws sippy cups around or bites the sipper. He has no clue how to suck it, so I'm right there with you. All I can say is he'll get there. Try relax a bit about it........

You should definitely go and talk to your GP. One of my children suffered quite severely with eczema and ended up seeing a skin specialist. He said usually its unlikely to be dietary. As far as a moisturiser goes, I recommend plain old Redwin Sorbolene Cream, it works really well and there are no nasty perfumes, colours, etc. Cortisone creams do work but ironically they tend to dry the skin. You should ask your doc to prescribe some Advantin Fatty Ointment. Its a little bit greasy but it is fantastic stuff! Also, try not to let your bub get too hot, that is one thing that definitely aggravates eczema.
Hope this is helpful and good luck. : - )

He needs a cortisone cream to keep it at bay. Sometimes kids will have flare ups of eczema , but if left too long, they could have it their entire lives..
Cortisone is a steroid that will keep it at bay, not cause dryness and help keep him comfortable, but don't buy anything over the counter, he's 13 months old, and the doctor will know what amount of cortisone to put in the cream.. so go to the doctor, and get a prescription.

I would take him to the doc to make sure that is what is going on. I know that reading over the internet can make you think you know what is going on. But to be on the safe side I would make an app. Cause if he is allergic to peanut butter there could be other maybe life threating things. I would have him seen by a doc.

My 14 year old daughter has it to and we use hydorcortizone cream it is available over the counter. She uses it night and day,
also the dr. prescribed a antihistime but this is available over the counter too.She insists the antihistime doesn't do anything,so she just uses the creme however if she quits using it it comes back so it is a life time thing.Might want to check with the doc.

Don't mess around with things you buy over-the-counter at the pharmacy, without knowing exactly what it is your boy has. Some things may (seem to) help, others can worsen the condition.
Go to a dermatologist and have it checked out. It could be a lot of other things, psoriasis for instance.
